Jeremiah Trotter, born on January 20, 1977, in Hooks, Texas, is a celebrated former NFL linebacker, best known for his impactful career with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft. Nicknamed as the “Axe Man” for his fierce and aggressive playing style, Trotter was a significant defensive force for the Eagles from 1988 to 2001 and again from 2004 to 2006. In between his time with the Eagles, he played for the Washington Football Team from 2002 to 2003, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007, and retired from his NFL career after playing with the Eagles in 2009.

His leadership helped guide the Eagles to four Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl XXXIX appearance in the 2004 season. Jeremiah also achieved many awards and recognitions in his career, such as First-team All Pro (2000), Second-team All-Pro (2001), 4x Pro Bowl (2000, 2001, 2004, 2005), inducted into the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame, Consensus All-American (1997), and Consensus All-SLC (1997). Trotter’s confident style and persistent pursuit of the ball made him a fan favorite, and a key player during one of their most successful eras.

After retiring from the NFL, Trotter has remained involved in the sport and his community, as he continues to inspire through his contributions on and off the field. Today, he is a proud NFL father to his children, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Josiah Trotter. Jeremiah Jr. is continuing his father’s legacy as a linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, and Josiah currently plays as the linebacker for the West Virginia University football team.
