ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (August 19, 2024) – It’s officially football season at Resorts Casino Hotel, and Philadelphia fans can kick off the season with a special viewing of the home opener vs. Green Bay on Friday, September 6th. Hosted by DraftKings Sportsbook at Resorts, guests will have the opportunity to catch all of the action at professional football’s landmark first game in Brazil, with kickoff at 8:15pm EDT. Philadelphia football royalty, Jeremiah Trotter, is stopping by to celebrate the first Friday of the season with a free meet & greet from 7:00pm – 8:00pm. A more exclusive meet & greet in a private section of DraftKings Sportsbook at Resorts starts at 8:30pm. Jeremiah Trotter is a celebrated former linebacker, best known for his impactful career with Philadelphia’s professional football team. He was selected by Philadelphia in the third round of the 1998 professional football draft. Nicknamed as the “Axe Man” for his fierce and aggressive playing style, Trotter was a significant defensive force for Philadelphia from 1988 to 2001 and again from 2004 to 2006. In between his time with the team, he played for Washington, D.C. from 2002 to 2003 and for Tampa Bay in 2007, and retired from his professional football career after returning to Philadelphia in 2009.
Trotter’s leadership helped guide Philadelphia to four Professional Football All-Star games and a Big Game appearance in the 2004 season. He also achieved many awards and recognitions in his career, including All-Star recognitions in 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005. Trotter was inducted into Philadelphia’s Hall of Fame lain 2016.
