ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (October 3, 2023) – In front of packed crowd on Saturday, September 30th, Joey Chestnut and other Major League Eating (MLE) competitors battled it out in the first-ever Cheesesteak Egg Roll Bowl at Resorts Casino Hotel. The eating contest was the main attraction at the action-packed day at Resorts’ that also featured a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new menu at DraftKings Sportsbook (which includes the Philly Cheesesteak Spring Roll), the official launch of a new pop-up Halloween bar: The Boo Bar, and various sports-themed challenges on the boardwalk for Star Card members.

Joey Chestnut, took the stage in front of Landshark Bar & Grill at Resorts Casino Hotel at 1:00pm this past Saturday to battle it out for a first-place prize of $3,000. The competitors had 8-minutes to eat as many Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls as possible and in front of a packed crowd cheering on the competitors, Chestnut took home the win by eating 46 egg rolls – a record for the category. Coming in 2nd place was Nick Wehry, who wasn’t far behind with 42 egg rolls eaten.
Twelve professional eaters, including the world-famousThe first-annual Balls Out Block Party at Resorts Casino Hotel featured live music from Sidestory Cover Band as well as a variety of fun-filled activities that included a Mug Hosting Challenge, a 2-minute Football Drill, a Football Accuracy contest, and a Longest Football Throw Challenge on the beach.
97.3 ESPN – South Jersey’s Sports Radio, were also live at Resorts’ as part of the Block Party. Major League Eating president, Rich Shay, served as the high-energy and hilarious host of the Egg Roll Bowl. In addition to Chestnut, who is the #1 ranked professional eater, and Nick Wehry, who is #4, the contest also featured #6 Gideon Oji, #12 Darrien Thomas, #21 George Chiger, #45 Rene Rovtar, #46 William Myers, #48 Alex Moose Perez and #50 Michael Deitz.
