Big & Rich
Get “Lost in this Moment” when Big & Rich ride into Atlantic City Labor Day weekend!.
In 1998, Kenny Alphin & John Rich came together to form the spectacular duo Big & Rich.. Rather than perform what is thought to be traditional country music, the duo infuses hip-hop, rock, Native American yell, and more recently soul, along with the traditional sounds of country music.
In May of 2004, Big & Rich released their debut album Horse of a Different Color. The album featured signature hits such as, “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” and “Wild West Show.” Quickly following in 2005, B&R released their next album, Comin’ to Your City, which featured the popular song, “8th of November.” In 2007, they released of their third album, Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace, which earned them eight Academy of Country Music award nominations. Big & Rich received four nominations as a duo including Top Vocal Duo, Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Video of the Year for hit single, “Lost in this Moment,” in 2008. Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace, featured unheard of collaborations in country music with Lil’ Jon, Wyclef Jean, and John Legend.
Kenny Alphin and John Rich have also brought their own independent artists along with them. Their Muzik Mafia troupe, consists of a painter who works on a canvas during B&R shows, and of a former Foot Locker salesman, called Cowboy Troy, who’s become the most prominent black country performer since Charley Pride—with one major difference. Troy raps. In Spanish, sometimes. As does Big Kenny, doing a little “hick-hop.”
